DSP urges caution for drivers on Del. roads

Delaware State Police are continuing to urge drivers to practice caution on the roads.

According to police, troopers have responded to 135 property damage collisions, 14 personal injury collisions, 205 disabled vehicles, and 48 traffic hazards statewide as of noon Saturday.

A number of roads in Delaware have also been closed because of reported flooding and/or snow:

Sussex County:
 

Inlet Bridge
New Rd at the Canary Creek Bridge
The Canal Bridge on Savannah Rd, Lewes
Pilot Town Rd at the US Coast Guard Station
Route 1 from Dewey Beach to Bethany Beach
 
A Level 1 Driving Warning remains in effect for Sussex County, which means any person operating a motor vehicle should exercise extra caution. Non-essential employees, regardless of whether employed by a public or private entity, are encouraged not to operate a motor vehicle on the state’s roadways unless there is a significant safety, health or business reason to do so.
 
Kent County
 
Bowers Beach Rd at Whitwell Delight Rd. into Bowers Beach is closed due to flooding.
 
A Level 2 Driving Warning remains in effect for Kent County, which means no person should drive on Delaware roadways except for people designated as essential personnel. This includes operators of snow removal equipment employed or contracted by a public or private entity.
 
New Castle County

 
At this time no roads are listed as closed. The speed limit on I-495 has been reduced to 45 mph; however, a Level 2 driving warning remains in effect for New Castle County.
