Dover HS teacher named “Teacher Who Makes A Difference”

A Dover High School teacher has named the latest “Teacher Who Makes A Difference”, an award sponsored by 47 ABC and Accurate Optical.

Tyrone Smith, an algebra and geometry teacher at Dover High School, was surprised by our news team on Wednesday morning.

Smith says he has been teaching for 12 years, all of which were spent at Dover High.

He teaches grades 10 through 12 and describes teaching as a challenging job, both mentally and physically; however, he says he will continue finding a way to educate even when he retires in the future.

“The secret is to love your students, to care for your students because if they trust you, if they care about you, you can teach them anything.” Says Smith.
