Blue Hens suffer 5th straight loss falling to hot shooting Dukes

The University of Delaware men’s basketball team lost their fifth straight game Saturday afternoon, falling 73-63 to James Madison University.

The Dukes of James Madison shot 13 of 32 from three point range including eight triples in the first half. While JMU was hot from behind the arc in the first, Delaware was cold from the field, connecting on just 17% of their field goal attempts, and going 0-11 from 3. James Madison entered the locker room at the half with a 35-20 lead.

Delaware more than doubled their percentage in the second half, and nearly tripled their field goals made, but was never able to get the JMU lead to under 10. The Dukes’ largest lead was 19 with just over 2 minutes to go in the game.

Cazmon Hayes had a team-high 17 points, while backcourt mate Anthony Mosley registered his first career double-double, finishing with 16 points and 11 rebounds. James Madison placed 3 players in double figures in the contest, led by forward Jackson Kent’s 19 points and 10 rebounds.
