Allen Powers Dover Past Cape

The Dover boys basketball team picked up a big conference win Tuesday night when they defeated Cape Henlopen at home 70-51. The win improves the Senators to 4-4, while the loss drops the Vikings to 4-5.
Cape came out strong early, and would find success around the rim as they grabbed a 17-8 lead after the first quarter. Randy Rickards would put in a couple bucket on his way to a team high 12 points. Dover would then find their groove in the 2nd quarter led by their star senior guard Jordan Allen. He continually got to the rim for dunks, and would help the Senators out-score the Vikings 28-13 in the second quarter. Dover then took over the game with a big third quarter. Thomas Hoskins would score a couple buckets in transition as Allen continued to pour in the points, finishing the 3rd quarter with 33, before ending the game with 35. Cape would try and make a run in the 4th, but Dover was able to spread the court and run out the clock.
