Accidental house fire in Hebron causes $150K in damages

A house fire in Hebron, that reportedly caused more than $100,000 in damages, has been ruled accidental.

The Maryland State Fire Marshal’s Office says on Monday just after 7:35 PM, a neighbor discovered flames at a two story home on Grove Street. Forty firefighters from Hebron, Mardela, and Delmar reportedly responded, and had the flames under control in about an hour.

Investigators say the fire started in the first floor dining room of the home, and has been ruled as accidental, after discovering that it was caused by something electrical. Damages are estimated to total $150,000. No injures were reported.

The homeowners have reportedly been displaced by the fire, and are now staying with family members.

A fund has been set up to help through the Hebron Volunteer Fire Department and the Linkwood-Salem Volunteer Fire Company.

If you want to help,  you can donate through either fire company.

47 ABC is told all of the money donated will be passed to the family to purchase clothes, and other necessities to get them by until they can get on their feet.
