Abandoned cars and water mains problems for Dover during storm

Mayor Robin Christiansen tells 47 ABC that Delaware’s capital city saw over 15 inches of snow resulting in several water main breaks.
Christiansen says crews were re-routed while removing snow to address three broken water mains that were eventually repaired.
Another main issue city workers faced, maneuvering around abandoned cars to clear the roadways.
“The other issue that we found, we were unable to get through some neighborhoods because some people just abandoned their cars any which way and it made difficulty for snow plows to actually go through and do the cleanup that was actually needed to be done.”
Mayor Christiansen says crews are still working to remove snow and slush from roads which haven’t been cleared yet.
We’re told the city is working with a private company to remove plowed snow from the side of roadways.
