AAU national tournament is coming to Wicomico County

The Maryland Amateur Athletic Union, commonly known as AAU has partnered up with Wicomico County, and is bringing a major tournament to the shore this summer. 

Wicomico County Parks and Tourism will host the AAU boys basketball national championships for eight- year- olds and under.   

The tournament will feature teams from all around the county competing for the title. This is the first AAU national tournament to be held in the Maryland District.

Steve Miller, the Director of Wicomico County’s Recreation, Parks, and Tourism says, “We estimate that this event will have about a half million dollar total impact on our local hotels and restaurants. We’re just excited about the opportunity.”

The tournament will be July fifth through the tenth.
