3 arrested following ‘lengthy’ drug investigation

Three people have been arrested after a “lengthy” investigation into illegal drug sales, according to police.
Laurel Police say they executed a search warrant in the Carvel Gardens Apartment complex on Friday. It led to the arrests of Laurel residents 36-year-old Joy Johnson, 30-year-old Derrick Johnson, and 28-year-old Michael McCray.
Police say it’s believed that Joy Johnson and Derrick Johnson were both selling heroin from their apartment.
Joy Johnson was charged with the Manufactures/Delivers or Possession w/intent to manufacture, deliver a controlled substance (Heroin), Maintaining a Drug Property, Possession of a Controlled Substance in a Tier 1 Quantity (Heroin), Possession of Marijuana, and three counts of Possession of Drug Paraphernalia.
Derrick Johnson was arrested for Manufactures/Delivers, or Possession w/intent to manufacture, deliver a controlled substance (Heroin), Possession of a Controlled Substance in a Tier 1 Quantity (Heroin), Possession of Marijuana, and three counts of Possession of Drug Paraphernalia.
McCray was arrested for three active warrants issued for his arrest from Sussex County Court of Common Pleas for failing to pay his fines.
Joy Johnson was released on a $16,700.00 Unsecured Bond with a future court date.
Derrick Johnson was committed to the Sussex Correctional Institute on a $13,700.00 secured bond.
McCray was released on a $2,499.50 unsecured bond and future court date.
