Woman saved in overnight Md. house fire

A Grasonville woman is safe following an overnight fire, according to local fire companies including the Grasonville Volunteer Fire Department.
According to Chief Jason Anthony, units responded to a house fire with a reported entrapment on the 1000 block of Perry’s Corner Road around 12:43 a.m. Sunday.
When crews arrived on the scene, they reportedly found flames near the back of the two-story home with the woman by a bedroom window on the second floor.
Chief Anthony tells 47ABC, she was removed from smoke-filled home without life-threatening injuries.
An initial investigation reveals the fire had vented from the rear of the house and extended to the second floor and attic of the house.
The cause of the fire remains under investigation by the Maryland State Fire Marshal’s office but according to Chief Anthony, it was likely related to an electrical malfunction.
The Grasonville Volunteer Fire Department was assisted by Queenstown, Kent Island, and Goodwill Fire Departments.
