Washington Hoops Coast Past Saints

The Washington boys basketball team opened up their season Friday night with a impressive road win at Saint Michaels 92-27. The win improves the Jaguars to 1-0, while the loss drops the Saints to 0-1.

Washington wasted no time before going to work. After winning the tip, Tyler Paulson would take the ball right to the hole for the quick two points. The teams exchanged baskets the first few minutes, as the Saints found an offensive spark from Brandon Kerrigan who finished with 10 points. But the Jags quickly grabbed control of the game. Cameron Somers would find his shooting touch from the outside, and one his shots began to fall, the lane opened up. Montrez Oliver would then get into the mix, adding transition buckets as the lead swelled to double digits. Jordan Sterling would then be the one that got hot as seemingly everyone on the Jag’s roster would have it go. Then Tim Howells nearly brought the house down after he finished a play with a thunderous dunk. The Jags never looked back from there as they rolled to the win.

Washington is back to work Tuesday when they host Parkside, while Saint Michaels will host Easton next on Tuesday.
