UPDATE: Victims identified in fatal Laurel crash

Delaware State Police have released the names of the victims involved in the deadly crash in Laurel on Wednesday near Salt Barn Road.
According to troopers, 31-year-old Nour-Eddine Baassiri, of Salisbury was driving a Ford Taurus northbound on Route 13, when for unknown reasoning he reportedly crossed into oncoming traffic in the opposite direction. Official report Baassiri struck a Scion TC driven by 42-year-old Robert Truitt, of Pennsylvania.
28-year-old Dewit Teferi, of Ocean City was a passenger in Baassiri’s vehicle. He was reportedly not wearing a seatbelt and was pronounced dead at the scene.
Truitt was reportedly seatbelted and removed from the scene by EMS. He was transported to Peninsula Regional Medical Center where he later died from his injuries.
Baassiri, who was properly restrained, was transported by EMS to PRMC where he is currently admitted with non-life-threatening injuries. Upon his release troopers say, he will be charged with two counts of operation of a motor vehicle causing death, inattentive driving, failure to maintain lane, and a seatbelt violation.
