UPDATE: Two arrested on drug charges during Salisbury home search

Police in Salisbury say they have wrapped up a two month long drug investigation, with two arrests.

Salisbury Police say in the early morning hours of December 1, Officers searched a home on North Boulevard. Police say the search comes after several calls for service from neighboring residents, including thefts, suspicion, service of arrest warrants, and controlled dangerous substance violations, during October and November.

During that time, Police say they collected information, which led to the search, which apparently resulted in the seizure of an undisclosed amount of marijuana, crack cocaine, narcotics paraphernalia and two pellet style handguns. Police say they also arrested 29 year-old Alan Lee Travis, and 22 year-old Cassie Lee Outten at the home, without incident.

Each were charged with CDS possession marijuana, possession not marijuana, and possession paraphernalia. Travis and Otten reportedly are currently being held at the Wicomico County Detention Center, awaiting an initial appearance.

Salisbury Mayor Jake Day said, “Drugs are a scourge that communities nationwide are fighting. In this City, our proactive Police officers-even those who are brand new to our team-are sniffing out, finding, and eradicating the drug dealers hiding in our neighborhoods. We’ve made a lot of progress over the past years in reducing crime, but hear me now: If you are bringing drugs into our neighborhoods, we are coming for you.”

Salisbury Police Chief Barbara Duncan tells 47 ABC, “It was really a lot of hard work and connectivity and partnership that these officers had engaged in. This is community policing at it’s best and you’re seeing the result of it here in this arrest.”

Police say their investigation is on-going, and are asking anyone with information to contact the Salisbury Police Department at 410-548-3165 or Crime Solvers 410-548-1776.
