UPDATE: Troopers investigate fatal vehicle crash

Police have identified Elizabeth J. Willey of Delmar, Delaware as the deceased victim.

Delaware State Police say Willey, 62, was driving around a curve when her vehicle crossed the median crashing head on with an S-U-V. 

Officals say six others in the crash did not require medical attention and were all properly restrained.

The preliminary investigation revealed that Willey was not properly restrained.

Police say one person is dead following a head-on collision Saturday afternoon.

According to Delaware State Police, the crash happened around 1:40 p.m. Saturday on Iron Branch Road north of Main Street. A preliminary investigation has found that an SUV and a passenger car crashed head-on.

Corporal Gary Fournier of the Delaware State Police says one person died on the scene. 

The State Police Collision Reconstruction Unit is currently on scene and will assume the investigation.
 
Iron Branch Road is currently closed between Firetower Road and Main Street.  Commuters are advised to seek alternate routes of travel.
