UPDATE: Driver charged in fatal Laurel crash

State Police say they have charged the operator of a vehicle involved in a crash that killed two people earlier in December.
Delaware State Police say 31-year-old Nour-Eddine H. Baassiri, of Salisbury, was driving a 2014 Ford Taurus on Route 13, when he drove off the road, across a grass median, and crashed into a 2006 Scion TC.
The driver driver of the Scion, Robert W. Truitt, 42, of Downingtown, Pennsylvania and Baassiri’s passenger, Dewit Yewendwosen Teferi, 28 of Ocean City, Maryland both died in the collision.
On Tuesday, Baassiri was extradited back to Delaware, where he was charged with two counts of operation of a motor vehicle causing death, inattentive driving, failure to maintain lane, and a seat belt violation. He was later released on an $4,075 unsecured bond.
