Three charged in Salisbury shooting investigation

Salisbury Police say, they have charged three suspects in the shooting of a 23-year-old male victim, who is still recovering in the hospital.
According to reports, the arrest stem from an incident on Sunday. Police say, they were contacted by Peninsula Regional Medical Center around 2:00 AM about an individual who was being treated for a single gunshot wound. Preliminary investigation revealed that the victim was reportedly shot outside of his home on North Division Street. It was further learned that 22-year-old Ashley Cannon, of Laurel allegedly drove 22-year-old Douglas Schoolfield, of Salisbury and 20-year-old Luquan Brittingham, of Pocomoke to the victim’s home. Reports say, Schoolfield and Brittingham got out of the vehicle and approached the victim and shot him once in the mid section. That’s when the victim reportedly fled into his home while Brittingham, Schoolfield and Cannon fled the area in Cannons vehicle.
Within hours, authorities say they were were able to arrest Cannon, Schoolfield and Brittingham for their involvement in this incident. A search and seizure warrant was also completed which reportedly resulted in additional evidence being obtained.
Police say, the victim is currently being treated at PRMC for his injuries which are considered serious, but not life-threatening.
