Terps Soar Past The Lady Hawks

The fifth ranked Maryland Terrapins took a trip down to the Eastern Shore to take on UMES and put on a show for the fans.

Throughout the first half, the Lady Hawks managed to knock down some baskets, but it was the Terps that stole the show with a 53-13 lead heading into the locker rooms. In the second half, the Lady Hawks added 17 more points for a 30-point total on the game, but the Terps matched their 56 points to close out the game with a 106-30 win over UMES.

This marks the third time, this season, that the Terps have hit the century mark, but this 76-point win marks the largest margin victory in program history for the Terps. Maryland’s Brene Moseley and Shatori Walker-Kimbrough both led the way with 23 points – Moseley shot 12-13 from the field knowing down 3-3 from behind the arc.

On the other side, for UMES Moengaroa Subritzky played a career-high 45 minutes notching 18 points, but it wouldn’t be enough to keep the Hawks in the game.

The UMES Lady Hawks continue their home stretch on Tuesday, December 22 against former national champions Old Dominion – tip time is set for 2 pm.
