Suspicious duffel bag left outside middle school investigated by DSP

Members of the Delaware State Police say a suspicious duffel bag was left lying in front of the Stanton Middle School Wednesday, containing what troopers say appeared to be assorted wires.
Troopers say they were alerted around 12:57 P.M., after a call came in to the New Castle County Emergency Call Center from a DelDOT employee who observed the item.
Authorities on scene apparently reported that the duffel bag contained “what appeared to be electronic style wiring of assorted colors.”
It was then troopers say the Delaware State Police Explosive Ordnance Disposal Unit was contacted. According to police, the unit determined the bag was not explosive, instead it contained non-explosive materials including electronics and household items.
Troopers say both the northbound and southbound lanes of Limestone Road were closed to traffic from DE Rt. 4 to Hendry Avenue for approximately one hour as the investigation went on.
