Slow Start Dooms Colonel Richardson vs. New Era Acd.

The Colonel Richardson boys basketball team got their Governor’s Challenge tournament run off to a disappointing start Tuesday when they fell to New Era Academy 55-30. The Colonels will now face the loser of JH Blake and Conrad Science.

The Colonels couldn’t have started the game out much worse, struggling to shoot from the floor while turning over the ball against the Jaguars press. The would find themselves down 24-4 in the second quarter before finally finding their offensive flow. AJ Palmer would string together a couple baskets, then Marcus Johnson would get into the mix. CR would find themselves down just 11 at the break, but couldn’t keep up their run in the second half as New Era Academy would end up pulling away.
