SHA takes advantage of warm weather

As many of you may have noticed, the weather has been unseasonably warm over the past few weeks and because of that, the Maryland Department of Transportation’s State Highway Administration says they’re taking advantage in an effort to get ahead of road projects.

This is a bonus because these types of projects usually are done between March and October, weather permitting. The SHA says they are also taking advantage of the asphalt plants which normally shut down by now because of the cold weather. But in this case, many are still open.

By getting these projects done early officials say it cuts down on next year. The SHA are set to begin paving MD 12 December 19th and work Monday through Saturday from 9 AM to dark. Motorists should expect a single lane closure and flagging operation during these work hours.
