Sea Gulls Drop OT Thriller To Lions

The Salisbury University men’s basketball team dropped a overtime thriller at home Wednesday to Penn St.-Harrisburg 66-63. The loss drops the Sea Gulls to 6-2 (1-2 CAC) on the year.
Salisbury came out ice cold from the field in the first half. Justin Witmer connected on a couple long balls as his 6 points would be SU’s only points til under 10 minutes to go in the half. Finally, the offense would get going as Kyle Savercool would add a couple buckets before Rocky Harris would drill a 3 pointed to beat the buzzer, cutting the Lions lead to just 5 at the break.
Salisbury would continue to climb their way out of the hole in the second half, but miss free throws late and the game would go to overtime. There down in the final minute, Gordon Jeter would score back to back layups to get Salisbury even at 63-63, but Jazsmon Harris would hit a shot with 3 seconds left to give his team the win. Jeter led SU with 17 points and 9 rebounds while Witmer added 14 points and Savercool had 12 points.
SU returns to the court December 20th when they take on Concordia.
