Salisbury church members defy expectations

Members of New Dimensions Ministries have recently started a movement  based around surpassing the expectations other people have set called Be DOPE. DOPE standing for defying other people’s expectations. The purpose of this movement is for members of the church and community to share experiences on how they’ve done just that. Some of the topics they discuss range from sexual abuse and higher education. Members of the movement shoot a video for each person’s story in the hopes of inspiring other young  people to defy the odds against them.  This movement began with one church member wearing a Be DOPE shirt and eventually spreading the awareness to other members.

Jonothan Dashiell a church member says, “She had these shirts, I don’t know if it she meant it to go as big It did but it definitely grew from there and people have been calling us to tell their stories and allow us to make videos for them too.”

Be DOPE airs their video during the church’s regular mass and will be airing their fourth video in January.
