Members of the Dover Police Department say they were forced to close down a major intersection along Route 13 overnight Monday following a crash involving two tractor-trailers.

Police say the incident happened around 1:02 A.M. Monday, when a tractor-trailer crossing Route 13 at Scarborough Road was struck by another truck which ran a red light.

Police say the tractor-trailer that ran the red light became disabled in the intersection, and traffic had to be closed off for more than two hours for a clean-up.

According to Dover PD, the Dover Fire Department and DNREC Hazmat responded to the scene to aid in cleaning up fluids leaking from the vehicles.

DelDOT and Delaware State Fire Police aided in traffic control as well.

Police say Sherman Overton was cited for Failing to Stop at a Red Light.
