Record High Temperatures Possible Over the Weekend

A ridge of high pressure will bring well above average temperatures to the majority of the eastern United States over the weekend. Delmarva will come very close to breaking records in a few towns.

Our average high for this time of year is around 50 degrees. Daytime highs are expected to be about 10-20 degrees above average over the weekend, making it feel more like September than December. Georgetown has the best chance at breaking records. Salisbury will come very close, especially on Sunday. The jet stream will be pushed far into Canada allowing mild air to flow into our area. 

El Nino can be blamed for this mild pattern and for the lack of cold and snow across the east coast. The pattern looks to remain above average through at least the 17th of December.
