Ramblers hold on to take out Polytech at home

Eastern High School out of Washington, DC defeated Polytech 64-62 in Woodside Monday night.

A close game throughout, the teams were tied 30-30 at the half. Chase Chappel and Justin Clinkscales had eight points a piece at the half, but would be shutout in the second.

The Panthers of Poly began to lean on Zachary Price, who led them offensively, finishing with a game-high 16 points, including multiple key three pointers to keep Polytech close.

A 51-51 game with under 5 minutes remaining, Eastern went on a 6-0 run, and got a great alley oop finish by senior guard Marko Pickett. Pickett finished with 9 points, while Davon Thomas led the Ramblers with 13.

Polytech returns to action Saturday when they take on Wi-Hi in the 2015 Governor’s Challenge.
