Man dead after camper fire in Townsend

(AP) – Authorities say a man is dead after a camper fire in Townsend.
The Delaware Office of the State Fire Marshal said in a news release that the fire was reported around 6 a.m. Tuesday on Pine Tree Road and one person was found inside the camper.
New Castle County Paramedics said in a news release that a 54-year-old man discovered in the camper was pronounced dead at the scene and was found to have suffered burns and possibly smoke inhalation.
The fire marshal’s office says state fire investigators are searching for the fire’s origin and cause and the Delaware Division of Forensic Science will conduct an autopsy Tuesday.
Damage to the camper was estimated at $5,000.
