Information sought in Lewes gas station robbery investigation

State Police are looking for information, after the reported armed robbery of a Lewes gas station.

Delaware State Police say on Tuesday night, around 9:10 PM, a man armed with a handgun walked into the BP Uncle Willies gas station, on Coastal Highway, and pointed a gun at the 46-year-old employee. He reportedly demanded cash, prompting the employee to open the register.

Police say the suspect then grabbed the register drawer, and emptied the cash into a plastic bag that he was carrying. He then reportedly fled from the scene, running in an unknown direction.

The employee was apparently uninjured in the incident. Police describe the suspect, seen above in a surveillance photo, as a man standing about 6′ 2″ tall, wearing a black and white hooded sweatshirt, dark colored pants, black shoes, and a clear plastic mask over his face, armed with an unknown handgun.
