Hearn Building gets stabilization funding

Governor Larry Hogan is spreading across multimillion dollar grant money across Maryland and Dorchester County is seeing $700,000 of it.  The bulk is going towards the Hearn Building.

$500,000 of the grant money will be used to stabilize the building. It partially collapsed back in October.

It’s caused the city of Cambridge to shut down a portion of Race Street and condemn the building next door out of safety concerns.

Officials tell 47 ABC they predict work will begin on the building by mid-February.
