Hawks put up disappointing performance at home against Mt. St. Mary’s

The UMES women’s basketball team dropped to 2-4 early in the season, falling 57-50 to The Mount, at the Hytche Center on Wednesday night.

Leading 15-7 after one, and 26-24 at the break, the Mount scored 19 points in the third, to just 6 by UMES. A 27% shooting performance by the Hawks at halftime was followed by just 30% in the second half, finishing going an abysmal 18-63.

Alexis Carter led Mt. St. Mary’s with 15 points, with Kathleen Belanger-Finn netted 14. For the Hawks, TeAmber Burke was the only player in double figures, posting 14.

The Hawks are back in action on Saturday, December 5th, when they travel to Durham, NC to take on North Carolina Central, in their first conference game of the season.
