Delmar Gets A Big Road Win Over Indian River
The Indian River Indiana played host to the Delmar Wildcats – two Henlopen teams who graduated solid talent, and both teams were in need of a win on Friday night.
Both teams got off to a slow start with the game being scoreless throughout the first three minutes, but Delmar put away the first points of the game. The Wildcats continued to hold onto the lead throughout the first quarter 15-5. The game continued to pick up throughout the second quarter – the Wildcats managed to score another 20 points while the Indians only put away 13 points to make it a 35-18 at halftime.
The Wildcats pulled away later in the second half to notch a big road win over the Indians, 63-58. Despite the loss, IR’s Demitrius Jenkins had a double-double with 27 points and 13 rebounds.
