Delaware announces effort to apologize for it’s role in slavery

Delaware is ready to condemn and apologize for it’s role in slavery in the form a house joint resolution, according to Gov. Jack Markell.
The announcement came Sunday on the 150th anniversary of the ratification of the 13th amendment, the amendment that abolished slavery.
The house joint resolution is sponsored by Rep. Stephanie Bolden and Senate majority whip Margaret Rose Henry.
The legislation is expected to be introduced during legislative session early next year.
