Decatur Wins Season Opener On The Road

The Stephen Decatur boys basketball team opened up their 2015 season with high expectations for this upcoming season despite missing a few key players on the roster. Both Tyree Henry and Torrey Brittingham were not on the court, and yet, this team was playing extremely well.

Arcadia scored the first points of the game, but it would not take long for the Seahawks to respond – especially junior Keve Aluma – who had a few big blocks as well as some major dunks in Friday nights game. The Seahawks went on a 17 point run and that was all they needed while taking a 20-5 lead with a few minutes left in the first quarter. Decatur continued to dominate the Firebirds in all aspects of the game.

The score was lopsided at halftime with Decatur on top 42-14 and they continued to push from there throughout the remainder of the second half as they got the win over Arcadia 81-31.

Watch out for the boys in blue this year – they are looking for that Bayside title and they have the talent to do it.
