Decatur Remains Undefeated
The Stephen Decatur boys basketball team has been missing a few of its key players – yet despite the roster changes, the Seahawks have continued to be dominant throughout this 2015-2016 season. The Washington Jaguars are looking to fill gaps from players that graduated last season, and they have been doing very well so far, but the Seahawks had a little more up their sleeve.
However, tonight – one of those Seahawk faces dressed up and stepped onto to the court tonight against Washington. Torrey Brittingham – the PointGodd himself – took the court for the first time this season and scored his first basket receiving a standing ovation from the crowd. With how good this Decatur team has been all season long, Washington was able to find some of their weaknesses throughout the first quarter, however, the Seahawks closed out the first quarter with an 11 point lead. The Jags managed to get Decatur’s big man, Keve Aluma with a few fouls in the second quarter and tried to play small-ball with this Seahawks squad that looks for Aluma down low. Despite Aluma on the bench, the Seahawks held onto the lead throughout the first half and would get the win over the Jags, 80-40.
