Dec. 23 – The Salted Rim Polar Express

The Polar Express family movie and dinner at The Salted Rim is an awesome family holiday event!

The key elements of the movie are incorporated into the experience! This is how it goes.

First of all, come in your pajamas! This makes for awesome family photos with the decorated train cars in the background (So many families use this photo as their Christmas card!) Both train cars and the Pub are DECORATED for the holiday season! Tons of lights and decorations!

When you arrive, you will check in with Mrs. Claus who will issue your golden tickets! Everyone will wait in the waiting room, have a grown-up beverage at the bar or walk around the trains. This is a great opportunity to take those family pictures!
When the train is ready to board, Mrs. Claus will make the announcement and all families will walk down the boardwalk to the train building!

Once inside, at the entrance to the train car, you will meet Mr. Conductor! He will punch your golden ticket just like in the movie! As you enter the train, you will be greeted by the Elves, who are your servers, and escorted to your assigned seat. After all guests are seated you may go to the buffet. The dinner buffet consists of family friendly holiday classic menu items such as: mashed potatoes, mac ‘n cheese, corn, green beans, chicken nuggets, dinner rolls, holiday ham, grilled chicken and chicken gravy. The breakfast buffet (9:30am and 10:30am shows) include pancakes, chocolate chip pancakes, scrambled eggs, cheesy eggs, hash browns, rolls, sausage and grilled ham.

When all guests return to their seats we dim the lights and begin the movie. Hot chocolate and cookies are served to the children during the Hot Chocolate scene. After that, sit back and enjoy the movie. Your Elves will clear your plates and refresh your beverages or get you adult beverages for you.

Then…..we pause the movie and announce our special visitor…straight from the North Pole…Santa! Santa will visit with each child, ask them what they want for Christmas and give them a special gift! He is happy to pose for pictures with the children and the elves will even take the pictures for your or help Santa pose with the children!

Then we resume the movie and every one claps as the movie ends! It is truly magical! They even have a mailbox for children to mail their letters to Santa!
