Cause of Ellendale house fire under investigation

An early morning house fire in Ellendale, remains under investigation.
The Delaware State Fire Marshal’s Office says the fire started around 2:30 AM on Wednesday, at a home on Holy Church Lane. The Ellendale Volunteer Fire Company, with help from the Milton Fire Company, responded, and apparently found the structure fully involved in flames. The crews then worked to extinguish the blaze.
The structure was apparently not occupied at the time of the fire. No injuries were reported. The woman who resided at the home is reportedly now staying with family. Damages are estimated at $50,000. The house is a total loss.
The Fire Marshal’s Office says they are continuing to investigate where the flames started, and just what caused them.
