Cardin says Johnson Lumber exemplifies small business

Sen. Ben Cardin was in Easton Friday as part of his Made in Maryland tour. A tour focused on highlighting the diversity of Maryland products and those who create them.

In Easton Cardin visited the Johnson Lumber Company. Cardin says he was impressed by how sustainable the lumber yard was and how no piece of wood goes unwasted even down to the saw dust.

“They’re doing it in a way that’s more efficient and sustains the future by how they have made sure that the property owners understand their responsibility for future generations, that’s small business,” Cardin said.

Cardin says that Johnson Lumber not only helps local economy by providing well paying jobs, but also by providing lumber to other local businesses

Cardin says small businesses are the job growth engine not only on the Eastern Shore, but in all of Maryland.
