Cambridge man accused of assaulting another with metal pipe

A Cambridge man is facing charges, after Police say he attacked someone with a pipe.
Cambridge Police Department says on Thursday, Officers responded to the University of Maryland Shore Medical Center at Dorchester, for reports of an assault victim. Once on scene, Officers say they met with a person who had visible signs of injury to his head.
The victim then apparently told Police that he was walking in the area of Pine Street and Dunns Court, when a man holding a metal pipe walked up to him. The suspect then reportedly hit the victim in the head.
Police say they worked to identify the suspect as 65-year-old James Cornish. He was then located, and taken into custody, before being charged with first and second degree assault, dangerous weapon with intent to injure, and reckless endangerment, according to authorities.
Cornish is now reportedly being held at the Dorchester County Detention Center on a temporary containment.
