Apparent cooking accident deemed cause of Princess Anne house fire

Fire officials have ruled a house fire in Princess Anne accidental, after investigators say a cooking accident sparked the flames.

According to the Maryland State Fire Marshal, the Princess Anne Fire Department was dispatched to a home on Division Street around 5:00 PM on Saturday, for reports of a blaze. Reports say, it took about five minutes for firefighters to put on the flames to the one story home.

Investigators report, the fire started in the kitchen after whatever was being cooked apparently was not being attended to.

Officials have estimated the cost of loss to roughly $1,500.
