400+ bags of heroin reportedly seized in Dover home search, one arrested

Police say a month long drug investigation in Dover, has wrapped up with an arrest.

The Dover Police Department’s Drugs, Vice, and Organized Crime Unit says on Wednesday, they arrested 22-year-old Shakir Swain, during a search of a home on Barrister Place. Investigators say during their search they found 429 bags of heroin, .40 caliber Smith and Wesson handgun, and $5,000 in suspected drug proceeds.

After his arrest, Swain was charged with possession with intent to deliver heroin, possession of heroin-tier 5 qty, possession of a firearm during commission of a felony, possession of a firearm by person prohibited, possession of ammunition by person prohibited, possession of firearm by person prohibited that also possesses a controlled substance, possession of drug paraphernalia, and violation of probation.

He was then ordered to be held on a $99,501 secured bond at the James T. Vaughn Correctional Center.
