Wicomico County takes on “1 Ton Challenge”

Wicomico County and the Maryland Food Bank are fighting hunger this holiday season with an employee food drive called the “1 ton challenge”.

The ultimate goal is to collect one ton of food and their asking businesses in the area to collect items like canned tuna, peanut butter, pasta, canned veggies, apple sauce and oatmeal.

After your collection box is full, a representative from the Maryland Food Bank will come and take it off your hands. If your business does not have a receptacle, you can contact the Wicomico County offices to get one.

The drive started on November 2nd and goes until December 17th. If you would like more information on the Food Bank you can visit, MDFoodBank.org.
