Voters decide all nine Board of Supervisors in Accomack Co.

The General Election for Accomack County was held on Tuesday, and voters were tasked with electing all nine members of the Board of Supervisors.

In District 1, W.J. “Billy Joe” Tarr was unopposed.

In District 2, incumbent Ron Wolf, who is registered as an independent, beat Republican Stephen Corazza.

In District 3, incumbent Grayson Chesser was unopposed.

For District 4, incumbent independent Kay Lewis lost to independent Paul Muhly.

In District 5, incumbent independent John Gray lost to independent Harrison Phillips III.

District 6 incumbent independent Robert Crockett was unopposed.

In District 7, incumbent Laura Gordy, who is an independent, won out over independent G. Cabell Lawton IV.

For District 8, incumbent Donald Hart Jr. ran unopposed.

For District 9, incumbent C. Reneta Major also ran unopposed.

Accomack County also had uncontested races for Treasurer, Sheriff, State’s Attorney, Clerk of Court, and Commissioner of Revenue.

Voters were also tasked with deciding their representatives in the Virginia House and Senate. In the House, it appears incumbent Republican Robert Bloxom Jr. will retain his seat defeating Democrat Willie Randall.

In the Senate, incumbent Democrat Lynwood Lewis Jr. will also retain his seat, defeating Republican challenger Richard Ottinger. This race was closely watched because it was key for Democrats trying to regain control of the Virginia Senate.

At this time, these results from the Virginia Department of Elections are unofficial, as absentee and provisional ballots have not been tallied yet.
