UPDATE: Convicted felon reportedly found with loaded gun in Berlin

Maryland State Police, say they have confiscated a loaded handgun from a convicted felon, after a traffic stop in Berlin.

According to troopers, just after 1:00 AM Monday, officials stopped 23-year-old Daquon Mills on Route 113 and Nock Landing Road, for traveling 58 MPH in a 45 MPH speed limit zone. While speaking with the driver, officials say Troopers saw several criminal indicators, prompting a K9 scan. The scan was apparently completed with a positive alert.

Troopers say they then searched the vehicle, and found a chrome plated .380 Davis Industries handgun. The handgun also reportedly had a loaded magazine containing 5 cartridges.

The Maryland Gun Center was contacted and reportedly confirmed the gun was not registered to Mills, and that he is a convicted felon who is prohibited from owning or possessing a firearm.

Mills was arrested and charged with several weapons violation, including illegal possession of a handgun by a convicted felon. He is now reportedly being held on a $100,000 bond.
