UPDATE: Authorities continue searching for missing Mappsville man

The Accomack County Sheriff’s Office says they are still searching for a missing Mappsville man, who suffers from Alzheimer’s disease.

Eighty-year-old Howard Shrieves, Jr., was last seen on November 19. He was believed to be headed to Pocomoke from his Accomack County home, but never arrived. Police say when he was contacted by phone that day, he seemed confused and unable to give his exact location.

He may have traveled through James City County and Fredericksburg that night. His cellphone was reportedly last tracked northeast of Fredericksburg, Virginia, at around 1:15 AM on November 20, 2015.

Virginia State Police issued a senior alert for Shrieves on Monday. The Accomack County Sheriff’s Office says that Shrieves suffers from Alzheimer’s disease, and may appear confused.

Shrieves is described as an 80-year-old black man, stating 6′ 1″ tall, ans weighing about 175 pounds. He was reportedly last seen driving a 1999 Ford Escort with Virginia plate VKB 2761. Shrieves was apparently wearing a blue plaid shirt, blue pants, black boots, blue jacket and a brown baseball cap.
