Suspects sought in strong arm robbery

Maryland State Police are investigating after a woman reported a strong arm robbery at a Walmart.

The incident happened just before 9:30 p.m. Friday at the Berlin Walmart on Ocean Gateway.

The victim told troopers she was at the Red Box in the entrance of the store when a man grabbed her purse from her shopping cart and ran into the parking lot.  The woman chased the suspect through the parking lot, when he allegedly got into the passenger side of a teal hatchback passenger car.

Police say the victim reached into the vehicle from the driver side and grabbed her purse from the suspect.  During the struggle for the purse, authorities say the victim was punched in the face by the suspect.  The vehicle then fled the scene.

According to the victim, the vehicle was being driven by a vehicle was driven by a heavyset white female, with brown/dirty blonde hair pulled in a ponytail. 

The first suspect is described as a black male believed to be in the late 30’s to 40’s. We’re told he is tall with a thin build and last reportedly seen wearing thick black frame glasses and a baseball style cap.

Authorities say the vehicle is described as a teal blue two door hatchback, possibly a Geo Metro.
