Suspect on the run apparently causes serious crash in Millsboro

Delaware State Police say, they have charged a Millsboro woman for causing a serious crash after fleeing from troopers.
According to reports, 32-year-old Keiyanda Hopkins, of Millsboro was driving on Layton Davis Road and John J. Williams Highway around 3:00 P.M. on Sunday, when troopers allegedly spotted her failing to stop at a stop sign and driving erratically. As troopers tried to pull over Hopkins she reportedly began driving recklessly in the direction of Streets Road to Mount Joy Road. Reports then say, Hopkins tried to make a right onto Lawson Road approaching Hollyville Road and crashed into 26-year-old Matthew Revel, of Millsboro. The collision apparently caused both vehicles to stop south of the intersection in the roadway.
Revel was reportedly treated and released for his non-life threatening injuries at Beebe Hospital.
Hopkins was transported initially to the Beebe Hospital and then later to the Christiana Hospital Trauma Center with non-life threatening injures. Her current conditions have not been released.
Troopers have charged Hopkins with second degree vehicular assault, driving under the influence of drugs, among a number of other charges. Officials say, she will be formally charged and arraigned when she is medically cleared and released from the hospital.
The intersection of Lawson Road and Hollyville Road was closed for about two hours while the crash was investigated and cleared.
Troopers say they are counting to investigate this incident and any further charges will be filed at the conclusion of their investigation.
