Suspect charged in near fatal kidnapping in Cambridge

Cambridge Police say, they have arrested a 25-year-old Cambridge man in connection to an attempted murder and kidnapping in Dorchester County.

According to reports, at about 8:00 AM on Tuesday, police responded to Douglas Street in reference to a subject with a handgun. While in the area police say, they found a victim with visible signs of injury to his face.

The victim reportedly told police, Ja’Bron Moore came to his home and grabbed him and ordered him into a vehicle. Moore then allegedly took the victim to Douglas Street, where he hit him in the face with his hands and baseball bat. The victim also reportedly said, Moore placed a handgun to his head and told him he was going to kill him.

Lieutenant Justin Todd with the Cambridge Police Department tells 47 ABC, the victim was treated for his injuries at an area hospital and was released later that day.

Moore is being charged with second degree attempted murder, first and second degree assault, two counts of reckless endangerment, handgun on person, dangerous weapon with intent injure, kidnapping, false imprisonment, and firearm use of a felon-violent crime.

He is being held at the Dorchester County Detention Center without bond.
