State Police investigate hotel robbery in Dover

Delaware State Police say they are investigating the armed robbery of the Microtel Inn and Suites in Dover, that happened on Sunday night.

According to reports, a man, armed with a handgun, entered through the front door of the hotel on East Lebanon Road, just before 7:20 PM. The suspect allegedly, confronted a female clerk at the front counter, and demanded cash. She reportedly turned over an undisclosed amount of money, to the suspect. Police say, the suspect then fled on foot, across the parking lot. No one was reported injured during the incident.

Officials describe the male suspect as about 5’8″ tall and 130 pounds. He was apparently last seen wearing a dark colored hooded sweatshirt, and pants, with his face covered. Police say, he is armed with an unknown make and model handgun.
