Second Half Push Powers Crisfield To Regional Championship

The Crisfield boys soccer team punched their ticket to the regional championship game Friday afternoon with their 3-0 win over Pocomoke. The Crabbers will now host Colonel Richardson on November 10th.
Pocomoke would be the first ones to earn a great scoring opportunity as they had a free kick from right outside the box. Jacob Glovier would send it to Nolan Rantz who would get off the shot, but Charlie Elliot would come up with a great save for Crisfield. The rebound would come to Rantz would would take another shot that would be saved. Then finally Rantz would chip it to the far post where Noah Schoolfield would get a head on it, but it would go over the upright. Crisfield would then finally get it’s first scoring opportunity off a corner later in the first half. JJ Evans would send it into the box with Johnny Taylor would head it to the far post,but it would be just wide. The teams would go to the half tied at 0-0, but Crisfield came out ready to go in the second half. About 10 minutes into the half, the Crabbers would grab a 1-0 lead after Deajon McClendon would take a shot from the top of the box. It would get deflected to the post where Ozzie Zetina would be waiting and collect the easy goal. Shortly after that, the Crabbers would add another score to push the lead to 2-0. Crisfield began to then lean on it’s defense as they began to run out the clock. With just seconds left in the match, the Crabbers would have a corner that Tysean McCready would send into the box, where Nate Evans would send home for the final score of the game.
