School bus involved in vehicle crash in Milford

Delaware State Police say they are investigating a vehicle crash in Milford, involving a school bus.

According to reports, the incident happened around 6:45 AM on Old Shawnee Road, in the area of Brook Lane. Troopers say, 47-year-old Wendy Lewis, of Milford was driving a Chevy Tahoe south on Old Shawnee Road, behind the school bus driven by 27-year-old Chelsea Carr, of Milford.

While Carr was apparently stopping to pick up students, the Tahoe failed to stop, and hit the back of the bus with the front bumper.

Lewis was transported to Milford Memorial Hospital where she was treated for non-life-threatening injuries. She was cited for inattentive driving and no seatbelt.

Carr, and a 16-year-old Milford student on board the bus, were uninjured in the collision.
