Princess Anne mobile home fire ruled accidental

A space heater is being blamed for starting a fire inside of a Princess Anne mobile home, over the weekend.

The Maryland State Fire Marshal’s Office says the flames started just before noon on Saturday, inside the kitchen of a Venton Road mobile home.

Officials say the fire was discovered by a neighbor, leading to 20 firefighters from Princess Anne, Mount Vernon, and Deal Island responding. They reportedly had the one alarm blaze under control in 15 minutes.

Investigators say the fire started in the kitchen and living room area of the 12′ x 60′ mobile home, in a space heater. The fire has been ruled as accidental.

Damages are estimated to total $50,000. No injuries were reported. Maryland State Police apparently assisted in the investigation.
