Police: Dover woman arrested for heroin possession

A Dover woman has been arrested after police say she hid a bag of drugs and needles underneath a neighbor’s house.

Troopers responded to the unit block of Fairlane Drive around 5:15 p.m. Saturday after a resident reported a neighbor had placed a bag behind the weather skirting of their house.

When they arrived, authorities say they found a black plastic bag that contained 21 hypodermic needles and 1,311 bags of heroin weighing 19.665 grams.

An investigation revealed 24-year-old Emily Romero, who apparently lives next door, had placed the contents there in order to hide it from her parole officers due to a previous drug dealing arrest.

Romero was charged with Possession with Intent to Deliver Heroin, Possession of Heroin, and Possession of Drug Paraphernalia.  She has been committed to Delores J. Baylor Women’s Correctional Institution on a $50,250 cash bond.
